Product Description
Haribo Happy-Cola gummi bottles look like real soda pop bottles and have a real cola flavor. Attractive two-toned color. Packed in one 5 pound bag. About the Brand Haribo, founded in 1920 in Bonn, Germany by Hans Riegel, is one of the most prominent manufacturers of sweets (namely fruit gums, licorice, and foam) in the world. The company name is an acronym for "Hans Riegel, Bonn" and stands as a reminder of Haribo's continuing loyalty to early traditions. After Hans Riegel died during World War II, his son, also named Hans Riegel, took over the factory and expanded its operations, taking over many local confectionery manufacturers in countries all over the world. Currently, Haribo operates five factories in Germany and 13 throughout the rest of Europe. The company also has sales offices in almost every country in Europe as well as in the Unites States. Haribo's German catch phrase is "Haribo macht kinder froh / und Erwachsene ebenso," which translates as "Kids and grown-ups love it so / the happy world of Haribo."

5 out of 5 stars Gift for Son   July 13, 2010
Lawrence J. Kastriba (USA)
Bought these as a gift for my son, he just loves the things, they are hard to fine in local stores and often cost alot more than what I paid for them at Amazon.

5 out of 5 stars Not really cola, BUT...   July 6, 2010
D. J. Woods (Roseland, SC)
Let me start by saying that I think these candies are excellent. They have that tough, chewy texture that is neither just soft goo nor the jaw tiring, too hard to get started chewing chewing experience of gum stuck under a desk -- just right for me. The flavor does not strike me as anything more than vaguely reminiscent of cola-- there is a pronounced aroma of cinnamon when one gets a whiff upon opening the bag and during chewing the taste is a slightly sour/slightly sweet citrus (vaguely lemon) with only infrequent small bursts of a background hint of cola. I do not care for sour candy, fruit or anything really and normally find those things only palatable when balanced with an overwhelming sweetness much like lemon ade and I try to avoid that kind of sugar blast. These Haribo Gummi Candy, Happy-Cola are are an effective balance.
Sorry if I sound like some effete gummi bear snob but I was trying to describe a flavor that is not easily described. The bottom line is that no matter what the flavor is supposed to be, it is very pleasantly infused in a matrix of just the right texture. I like these a lot and expect to order more.

1 out of 5 stars Haribo Gummi Candy Happy-Cola tastes terrible   May 25, 2010

I thought this gummy candy would taste like cola - turns out it is citrus flavored and sour. Not at all what I expected.

4 out of 5 stars Good taste but too hard for me   November 15, 2009
Andrew J. Badertscher
The taste of the cola flavored gummy bears is ok, the regular harbi gummy bears have a much better flavor. I wont be buying these again as they were just too hard and chewy, not anywhere as soft as you get from the local store. If you like your gummy bears chewy these are for you, if you want a soft gummy bear look elsewhere.

5 out of 5 stars Flavorful - Yummy   October 19, 2009
Nuknuk (Springfield, VA United States)

If you want the best value. This 5 pounder is the way to go.

like their original gummy bears so much that I grab a pack of this to try. Not disappointed at all. You can really taste the cola flavor on this bottle shaped candies. It is not too sticky that it glues your teeth together; although a bit on the rubbery side. Not too sweet neither. Just the right combination of flavors to taste. . From the biggest gummy bear manufacturer in the world (Haribo - based in Germany).

Just FYI: 5 oz bag has 3.5 servings, with each serving at 140 calories, 10% carbo, 21g sugar, and 3g of protein. A serving is about 17 pieces of gummies.
