5 out of 5 stars NECA 18" Jason Voorhees 2009   April 16, 2010
Lester Romero (Wheaton, MD)
I have all the Friday the 13th 18" figures from NECA and this one is my favorite one. While their first 18" release featured the New Blood Jason I wasn't that keen on it since I didn't care much for the default pose. While that design is based off my favorite Jason ever the figure wasn't the home run I wanted (a solid release regardless). The Freddy vs. Jason release of Jason was nice and but I never cared for the design even though the default pose was better. Now this Derek Mears Jason from the recent series relaunch is the best of both worlds. I like the default pose and I like the design. I love the fact that he comes with two heads. This could have been released again as a separate figure with one being the hockey mask version and the other being the sack version. I was never big on the sack version the old series but here in this current relaunch it works beautifully so I'm a happy camper (no pun intended) since he has both heads.

About the heads themselves they very well sculpted. So much so that I had a hard time figuring out which one to actually put on him permanently since both look great on him. I fixed that issue by actually buying two (I'm like that). The sack version has a great weathering paint job on him which adds that look of realism to the finished product. The hockey mask version is detailed in a similar way on that the edges of the mask have a brown weathering effect to it. You can actually take the mask off Jason here but you're left with a big hole in his forehead and unpainted face even though his face is sculpted underneath the mask. The heads can easily pop on and off without much effort and when popped on aren't loose in any way. The figure itself has great proportions which is something that not every Jason figure I've seen have (NECA however does get the proportions right on every Jason I've seen them do). his jacket, boots and pants are all weathered and work out, torn in certain areas which just gives it a presence. He doesn't have a lot of articulation but that shouldn't be a shock to anyone. Blow the waist he's has no joints. His waist, arms, wrists, forearms can move and of course so can his head.

He comes with one weapon and that's the machete and that's all he really needs to come with which he can sheath into his left side. The machete itself is a little softer than previous machete's comeing from NECA but it's still durable and won't warp or anything and fits snug in his massive hand. Overall I'm very happy with this figure and I hope whoever buys it will enjoy it as much as I do.

5 out of 5 stars JASON FIGURE IS SICK!   February 6, 2010

Let me just say that If your a FF13TH fan like me, and your thinking about buying this guy, YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED! the details are fantastic! A+ work truly! At first, I admit I was a little aprehensive about paying 45 bucks for a Jason doll, despite the fact, I've wanted one like this for a while...Finally, I broke down a bought'em and I'm glad I did! You will too, I promise! I wouldn't recommend playing with it on a daily basis however, more of just a showpiece really, A KICKA@# ONE AT THAT!

5 out of 5 stars Jason   January 22, 2010
E. Sanchez (Military/ all over the world)
I ordered a total of 8 18 inch action figures of all the villans I could get my hands on and this Jason was one of them. I pulled him out of the box and noticed he had long hair that seemed really lame my old lady said the same thing so I got some scissors and cut it off it is only attached to the straps on his mask so no one will ever notice. And now he is almost perfect. This toy has a ton of detail from head to toe and he comes with another head and you can take his mask off. I love the length of his machette of all the action figures I bought this Jason is the most menacing looking. I have him posed with the his machette and right arm pointing straight out as if pointing at somone with it. He looks more muscular in real life than he does in the picture that makes him look more powerfull than the rest of my figures. It has been many years since I watched the Friday the 13th parts 7 and up so I am not familiar with the clothes he is wearing and the hair he has. But this toy is well worth more than what I paid. I did see another more classic looing 18 inch version of Jason with a cool looking jumpsuit but the figure was around 5-6 times the price of this one.
